Issues connecting to the things network

  • Hi,

I am attempting to setup a rak831 with a wisap board and am following this tutorial https://github.com/RAKWireless/WisCore/wiki/WisLora. I verified the connection between the RAK831 and wisap by running test_loragw_reg. I then modified the global config file using the provided info(eui from the thingsnetwork, server for my area and ports). When I try to run lora_pkt_fwd I receive an error due to being unable to connect to the server. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem and know what I am doing wrong? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi,

You can use this project for RAK831 + WisAP: https://github.com/RAKWireless/RAK831-LoRaGateway-OpenWRT-MT7628

  • Yes I complied the binary from this link and it worked.

Compilation may take time to build the firmware.

Also you have to check the global_config.json for correct frequency plan and the local_config.json that must have a unique gateway id.
